Tuesday 137: A new home

Hi! It's been awhile. I'd explain, but what would be the point?
After more than 10 years in New York, I moved to Mansfield, Conn., which pains me as a native Bostonian, because Connecticut sucks. Yes, it's beautiful here. I'm seeing birds I've never seen before, my morning runs are idyllic, everyone is friendly, and from my back porch I can stare into a dense expanse of deciduous forest that I know runs unmarked by human design (with the exception of a network of 19th c. field stone walls) for more than two miles. It's lovely, but it's still Connecticut...
Given the new physical home, I thought it was a good time to move the blog as well. This is another thing I could explain in detail, but it doesn't really seem worth it. Substack turned out to be a real disappointment—a shitty company with a product that got shittier every day. The move to Ghost was not tremendously researched (because who the hell has time for that?), but I feel good about the fact that this platform is a) not based in the United States, and b) home to 404 Media and the very good tech writer Paris Marx. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me.
I haven't determined yet what form my blog will take, though I'm tempted to make some changes. Most of my writing projects have been very stop-and-go, and even though I'm generally happy with the pace and frequency of my work, that's still something that has to change. I'm writing too much to do so little with it.
So, I appreciate you sticking with me. I promise I'll try to some up with something that's at least like a 6/10 on the compelling scale, or, if it's not compelling at all, at least it's nice to read every now and again.
See you soon!
